The Golf Course is in a fabulous condition for the time of year, as good as many members have ever seen it. 2/12/11

Our most successful Autumn Open in over two decades took place on 24th and 25th September. 140 competitors took part in the Saturday 4 BBB, with 125 playing for the Sunday Stableford. 

 

The first ever PowerPlay competition to be held in B&R took place at Llandrindod G.C. on Friday 24th August. The event was a resounding success, producing some excellent golf in some quite difficult conditions. Richard Gealy led the way with 33pts, followed by Dave Jones on 30pts. Best visitor was Simon Vickery with 28pts

 The 2011 Open Week Festival of Golf proved a huge success, enjoyed by visitors and members alike. The seven day event included singles, pairs, teams of three and teams of four competitions, with senior prizes also on offer. The week long singles knockout was won by Llandrindods Kris Robinson, with Llandrindods Rob Hanson successfully defending his Captains Day Medal.

Presidents Day took place on Sunday 29th August. 33 players took part, and an enjoyable day was had by all. Rob Hanson, Ross Lee and Graham Parker took top spot with 64-10.2-53.8. Runners-up were Grahame Glover-West, Keith Bethell and Kara Parker on 67-11.8-55.2.

Chris Jones hosted a very successful Captains Day on Sunday 1st August with 76 players taking part. The competition was played as a ShotGun teams of four Texas Scramble, on a course described by everyone present as in superb condition. The winning team was that of Phil Davies, Glen Thomas, Jack Williams and Kris Robinson with a score of 57-4-53. Runners Up were Paul Harris, Steve Brown, Rob Hanson and James Evans with 7-3.9-53.1. Making up the podium was Wayne Simcock, Nigel Lewis, Richard Davies and Martin Lockyear with 60-6-54. The nearest the pin prize was won by Martin Watson.

 Two successful Open Meetings were held in July, the first being the David Heighway Mixed Open which was won by Joe Morello and Kara Parker with 82 - 23.5 - 58.5, second was Paul Harris and Shirley Jones 81 - 21.5 - 59.5. The Centenary Teams Of Three Open took place on the 24th with an excellent entry of 39 teams.  Andrew Oakley, Karen Oakley and Gareth S. Williams led the way with a total of 114 pts, with Andy Rea, Mel Buxton and Merfyn Harley close behind on 113 pts.
